One of the fun things about marriage is the random conversations that a couple has. Mark and I were leaving one of the cleaning jobs yesterday, and we noticed the license plate of the person in front of us. I can’t remember what it said, but it led to talking about how one of Mark’s co-workers has a license plate saying “wassup”. So that led to what we would choose if we were people with personlized license plates, and my guess was that Mark’s would be “pennpapr” or something like that. He responded with “write1” and that mine would be “read1”. Then we had a good chuckle. We’re random like that . . . πŸ™‚

I do find it amazing though that God paired a writer with a reader. Mark has an amazing ability to word things. I have an amazing ability to tell him where he put “it’s” when it should have been “its”. πŸ™‚ Actually, I have an amazing ability to read quite quickly and to get through about 5 books a week. So our dream is to someday live in France, just outside of Paris, where Mark would spend his days writing and mine would be spent reading and volunteering to help orphans, while taking cooking classes. πŸ™‚

Actually, in all seriousness, we’ve both been encouraged to dream big this year. My dad has really been encouraging all of his congregation to walk in the giftings and callings that God has put on each of our lives, and I know that for my husband that includes evangelism and writing. He is naturally gifted at both. My quiet thinker never meets a stranger, and everyone who meets my husband loves him. He’s like my sister in that he has a way with people; both our boys seem to have that as well. Anyway, so as we hit the cleaning jobs every Sunday, as my husband spends his one day off a week working on the house, and as the dream of writing seems very far away from realization, I just know that I know that it will happen. I know that God loves His kids and designs each of us with specific talents and giftings for a purpose. And I know that the Hayden family will move more into our purpose this year. I happily rest in that knowing. πŸ™‚
