[dropcap style=”font-size: 60px; color: #9b9b9b;”] S [/dropcap]ometimes I really struggle with what to share on this blog . . . it’s a struggle to share one’s heart when you’ve learned the very hard way of how people treat other people. It requires wisdom to know which pearls to cast and which to keep. So I’ve got lots to say, but I’m just going to post a few thoughts:
The more I study and teach on missions, the more I’m drawn into God’s heart.
Intimacy and knowing God is where it is at. Not knowing about Him, but KNOWING Him.
Guarding the heart from offense, from bitterness, from hardness is so key, but man, it’s not easy.
Walking in righteousness, peace, and joy . . . all in that order is where I’m focusing my growth for 2014.
Being at peace with all men, but also speaking the truth in love is also where it’s at.
The American church has got to get on fire for God; we’ve got to return to the Word of God. We’ve got to learn how to love people, and we’ve got to turn our backs on compromise. Obedience to the Word and obedience to the Holy Spirit’s leading + stepping out in faith is so, so necessary if we want to see this nation come to Jesus.
Christmas is all about Jesus, and in amongst all that’s going on in life right now, I just hear Jesus calling. Sweet, sweet Jesus Who loves us, gave His life for us, came to give us an ABUNDANT life in Him, a peaceful, joyful, full life as a child of God and co-heir with Christ. Knowing Him changes usx And I so desire to be changed into His likeness; more of Him, less of me.
We didn’t do Christmas cards, and we’re still Christmas shopping (Lord, help me), but from our little family to yours, I hope you all have a blessed, happy Christmas. And I pray that you feel Jesus calling you to come close to His heart. He loves you, values you, pursues you, and wants to know you.
